Fracturing Facts

The work we do at Comtech has one common denominator: water. In order to frac a well successfully, the energy industry requires the use of (on average) 4 million gallons of water.

Our focus on safe water reuse technology is what allows us to make the most of the world’s most valuable resource. Our 1 Million gallon tanks house water aboveground and help prepare for the frac. After the frac, flowback water returns to our tanks where it is treated and then able to be hauled off for reuse. Our technology not only saves the water, it saves time and capital too.

This infographic from Energy in Depth and the World Resource Institute puts our industry’s water use in perspective.
